Summer Luncheon
On Wednesday, July 29th we held our annual summer luncheon and what a delightful afternoon it was! 25 members of Grace and Pine River gathered to catch up & renew friendships. Lunch was make-your-own- cold cut sandwiches, potato salad donated from Alison, chips, horseradish pickles prepared by Josie (BIG HITS) , lemonade and sherbet and cookies for dessert.
Our guest speaker, Cedrik VonBriel, represented the National Loon Center in Crosslake. Their new facility should be opened next May. Cedrik shared so much knowledge of our state bird, the loon. We were all enthralled. Did you know loons can fly 70-75 MPH and can dive 250 feet deep? He played the 4 four calls of the loon and noted the message each sent.
We set out a free will offering jar for the National Loon Center and Cedrik was able to take $140 back to the Center. Thank you to everyone’s generosity.
