Our April and May Mission
Minnesota Veterans Project
Minnesota Veterans Project is a Pine River based Veterans service non-profit that was officially incorporated on June 6th, 2023.
Their mission statement is “To serve those who have served and their families by bridging the gap between services available and services needed. To include but not limited to food, transportation, housing and any aspect that would insure a higher quality of life.”
They are actively working to house a homeless Pine River Vietnam Veteran. You can view their progress on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=61551461812805
They also provide free meals to Veterans every Wednesday at the Damsite Supper Club in Pine River.

OLD AGE IS NOT FOR SISSIES 5.0
Senior Series #1
Our first session was held Wed, March 19 th and it was a great success! We think due to more personal advertising, 23 community and church members attended.
Brenny Funeral Home’s Alex Brenny, presented “Unique Funeral Practices” and Suli Furman walked us through “Funeral Pre-Planning”. Both of them were very knowledgeable and well received. Alex shared recently approved burial procedures. In addition to traditional embalming and fire cremation, water cremation and human composting are soon to be in select funeral homes in Minnesota. He also discussed
military cemetery procedures and burial options. Suli Furman, explained the many benefits of funeral pre-planning, cost effective pre-paying and thus emotional
ease for your family when you die.
Wednesday, April 16 from 1 – 3 p.m., our topic is “Decluttering, Downsizing and Death Cleaning” presented by Theresa Eclov of Faith in Action. We all can use these tips! See you there!
Looking ahead: Wednesday, May 21, from

SCRIPTURES OF THE GRACE OF GOD
“17 For the sin of this one man, Adam, caused death to rule over many. But even greater is God’s wonderful grace and his gift of righteousness, for all who receive it will live in triumph over sin and death through this one man, Jesus Christ. 18 Yes, Adam’s one sin brings condemnation for everyone, but Christ’s one act of righteousness brings a right relationship with God and new life for everyone. 19 Because one person disobeyed God, many became sinners. But because one other person obeyed God, many will be made righteous.
20 God’s law was given so that all people could see how sinful they were. But as people sinned more and more, God’s wonderful grace became more abundant.” Romans 5:17-20 NLT
“16 From his abundance we have all received one gracious blessing after another. 17 For the law was given through Moses, but God’s unfailing love and faithfulness came through Jesus Christ. 18 No one has ever seen God. But the unique One, who is himself God, is near to the Father’s heart. He has revealed God to us.” John 1:16-18 NLT
8-12 With that, Peter, full of the Holy Spirit, let loose: “Rulers and leaders of the people, if we have been brought to trial today for helping a sick man, put under investigation regarding this healing, I’ll be completely frank with you—we have nothing to hide. By the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, the One you killed on a cross, the One God raised from the dead, by means of his name this man stands before you healthy and whole. Jesus is ‘the stone you masons threw out, which is now the cornerstone.’ Salvation comes no other way; no other name has been or will be given to us by which we can be saved, only this one.” Acts 4:8-12 The Message
Joy of the Month
“Look! I stand at the door and knock. If you hear my voice and open the door, I will come in, and we will share a meal together as friends.” Revelation 3:20 NLT
