*HYMN #98  To God Be the Glory

*CALL TO WORSHIP

Leader: The voice of God gathers us this day;
All: The warmth of God brings us together as one people.
Leader: So we come, with joy and sorrow in our hearts,
All: With acts mighty and faltering,
Leader: With kindness and with selfishness,
All: With doubt and with faith:
Leader: So may we bring the fullness of our lives to God.
ALL: May we worship well this day. Let us sing!

*HYMN #314  In The Garden

* Unison Prayer

In the beginning God created all things, and God saw that they were good. At our beginning, God created us
unique and irreplaceable, loved and wanted by God, known and treasured by God even before He created us. In all our new beginnings, God creates something new so we will seek God in the freshness of this morning, in the laughter of friends, in the colors of creation, and in this beautiful place.

Lord God, King of Creation,
open our eyes to see your presence, our souls to sense your presence, and our hearts to love your presence, always and forever.
Amen.

HYMN  Faith We Sing#2091  The King of Glory Comes

SCRIPTURE LESSONS:

Genesis 1:1-2, 27-31  page 1 & 2 in OT of Pew Bible

In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. The earth was without form and void, and darkness was upon the face of the deep; and the Spirit of God was moving over the face of the waters.

27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them. 28 And God blessed them, and God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the earth and subdue it; and have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the air and over every living thing that moves upon the earth.” 29 And God said, “Behold, I have given you every plant yielding seed which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree with seed in its fruit; you shall have them for food. 30 And to every beast of the earth, and to every bird of the air, and to everything that creeps on the earth, everything that has the breath of life, I have given every green plant for food.” And it was so. 31 And God saw everything that he had made, and behold, it was very good. And there was evening and there was morning, a sixth day.

Psalm 24  page 487 in OT of Pew Bible

 The earth is the Lord’s and all that is in it,
    the world, and those who live in it,
for he has founded it on the seas
    and established it on the rivers.

Who shall ascend the hill of the Lord?
    And who shall stand in his holy place?
Those who have clean hands and pure hearts,
    who do not lift up their souls to what is false
    and do not swear deceitfully.
They will receive blessing from the Lord
    and vindication from the God of their salvation.
Such is the company of those who seek him,
    who seek the face of the God of Jacob.

Lift up your heads, O gates!
    and be lifted up, O ancient doors,
    that the King of glory may come in!
Who is the King of glory?
    The Lord, strong and mighty,
    the Lord, mighty in battle.
Lift up your heads, O gates!
    and be lifted up, O ancient doors,
    that the King of glory may come in!
10 Who is this King of glory?
    The Lord of hosts,
    he is the King of glory.

Revelation 21:1-7   page 249 in NT of Pew Bible

21 Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and the sea was no more. And I saw the holy city, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying,

“See, the home of God is among mortals.
He will dwell with them;
they will be his peoples,
and God himself will be with them and be their God;
he will wipe every tear from their eyes.
Death will be no more;
mourning and crying and pain will be no more,
for the first things have passed away.”

And the one who was seated on the throne said, “See, I am making all things new.” Also he said, “Write this, for these words are trustworthy and true.” Then he said to me, “It is done! I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. To the thirsty I will give water as a gift from the spring of the water of life. Those who conquer will inherit these things, and I will be their God, and they will be my children.

Revelation 22:1-6  page 250 in NT of Pew Bible

Then the angel showed me the river of the water of life, bright as crystal, flowing from the throne of God and of the Lamb through the middle of the street of the city. On either side of the river is the tree of life with its twelve kinds of fruit, producing its fruit each month, and the leaves of the tree are for the healing of the nations. Nothing accursed will be found there any more. But the throne of God and of the Lamb will be in it, and his servants will worship him; they will see his face, and his name will be on their foreheads. And there will be no more night; they need no light of lamp or sun, for the Lord God will be their light, and they will reign forever and ever.

And he said to me, “These words are trustworthy and true, for the Lord, the God of the spirits of the prophets, has sent his angel to show his servants what must soon take place.”

Leader:  The word of God for the people of God.

People:  Praise be to God.
